ministries At FaithBridge, we believe in reaching out to serve! Here are some of the ways we love and serve those in our community: Casting Bread Food Pantry - This important ministry provides food assistance to hundreds of families each month in our community. Our Food Pantry hours are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11am until 4pm, or by appointment. Volunteers are welcome and necessary! For more information, contact Assistant Pastor Tracey Karcher at 828-295-8333. Women's Jail Ministry - A group of women from our congregation visit the Watauga County Jail's female inmates each Wednesday evening for fellowship, discipleship, singing, and prayer. For more information, contact Molly Bentley at 828-295-8333. Communion Ministry - Each month, volunteers from our church family deliver communion to local nursing home residents and develop relationships with those they serve. For more information, contact Sandy Eagle by emailing info@faithbridgeumc.org. Care & Share Day for Special Needs Adults - This annual event is an opportunity for adults with special needs, along with their caregivers, to enjoy a festival day including hay rides, Bingo, live music, a cookout, and other games. For more information, contact the church office at 828-295-8333. Youth Ministry for Junior High (6th-8th graders) and Senior High (9th-12th graders) Youth - Our Youth Minister Kyle Sigmon along with several volunteers offer a solid youth ministry to our teens and they are always happy to have new youth join in their activities! We have Youth Praise Band practice (all with musical interests are welcome to come!) on Sundays from 4-5pm, weekly youth meetings for all youth on Sunday evenings from 5-7pm, weekly after school fellowship on Wednesdays until 6pm (senior highs are picked up at Watauga High School and junior highs can meet us at the church office), and weekly small group for teen boys at 6:45am at Sunrise Grill on Hwy 105 in Boone. For more information, visit the FaithBridge Youth Facebook site by clicking here or contact Kyle Sigmon at 828-265-7154. Child Care and Children's Church on Sunday Mornings - Children are welcome to remain in worship with their parents whenever their parents choose, but excellent child care is always available during our worship services. Children 4 years old through 5th grade are invited to the Children's Ministry Room just before the sermon, so that they can participate in a craft and lesson which will teach them about the Bible and the Christian faith. Our volunteers are trained and follow the guidelines of our Safe Sanctuaries policy to keep our children safe. We also have special events for children through the year, including our Easter Eggstravaganza, our "Take a Hike!" events, participation in worship, and mission projects. For more information, contact our Children's Minister, Catharine Milner, at 828-719-6234. Prayer Ministry - Our Prayer Team organizes prayer to undergird our worship services and all of the ministries of our church. We have Prayer Partners who are ready to pray with worshippers each Sunday at the back of the auditorium, between the end of the sermon and the end of the worship service. We have Email Prayer Partners who receive weekly emails and are asked to pray for requests written down each Sunday morning, as well as prayer requests from our Prayer Box in the Blowing Rock Hospital lobby. We also have special events for prayer such as Prayer Walks and Prayer Vigils on an occasional basis. For more information, contact Peg Werts by emailing info@faithbridgeumc.org . Praise Band - Our Praise Band leads worship on Sunday morning through music. They sing and play musical instruments. If you are interested in learning more about serving by using your musical talent, contact Kyle Sigmon to schedule an audition at 828-265-7154. Congregational Care Team - This team visits those are sick, hospitalized, lonely, shut in, or discouraged. They are trained to listen, care, and pray with those who are hurting. For more information, contact Sandy Sisson by emailing info@faithbridgeumc.org . Creative Evangelism Team - The Creative Evangelism Team plans events for reaching out to those who are disconnected from church, in order to present a welcome in Jesus' name. They sponsor giveaways, publicity/advertising, and service opportunities to spread the love of God in practical ways. For more information about how to get involved in connecting with those who are not yet part of God's family called the church, contact Fran Younger and Dayna Wright by emailing info@faithbridgeumc.org . First Impressions Team - This team provides the invaluable service of a genuine welcome at our worship services. They help with set up, tear down, greeting, and assisting visitors. If you are interested in extending the welcome of Christ to worshippers, contact Mike Ragan by emailing info@faithbridgeumc.org . And much more... To find out how you might connect with these or any other ministry at FaithBridge, call our church office at 828-295-8333. We'd love to talk to you! |
